Aish'a's description of her house and Prophet's Muhammad's grave description. The presence of the Prophet's grave in his masjid in Madeenah can neither be used to justify the placing of bodies in other masjids nor the building of masjid over graves. The Prophet did not order that he be buried in his masjid nor did his companions put his grave into the Masjid. For that , his Companions wisely avoided burying the Prophet in the local graveyard for fear that later generations would become overly attached to his grave. 'Umar , related that when the sahabat ( companions) gathered to decide on the Prophet's burial , one said : "Let us bury him in the place he used to pray" - Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) replied " May Allah protect us from making him an idol to be worshipped" Others then said " Let us bury him in al Baqee' ( a graveyard in Madeenah) where his brothers amond the migrants from Makkah ( Muhaajireen) are buried . Abu Bakr , refused again and answered " Verily , burying the Prophet in there is detestable because some people may try to seek refuge in him which is a right belonging only to Allah. So , if we take him out ( to the graveyard) we will ruin Allah's right even if we carefully guard the Messenger's grave" They then asked " What is your opinion , Ô Abu Bakr ? " He replied " I heard's Allah's Messenger say " Allah has not taken the life of his prophets exept that were buried where they die" Some of them said " By Allah what you have said is pleasing and convincing" They then made a line around the Prophet's bed ( in Aish'a house) and dug the grave where his bed was. Alee , al Abbas , al Fadl and the Prophet's familly took his body and prepared it for burial. 'Aesh'a's ( may Allah be pleased with her ) house was separated from the Masjid by a wall and it had a door through which the Prophet used to enter the masjid to lead salaah. The companions sealed off this doorway in order to complete the separation of the Prophet's grave from his masjid. Consequently , the only way that his grave could be visited at that time was from outside the masjid. Expansions of the masjid took place in the time of the second Capliph 'Umar and third Caliph 'Uthmaan. But both of them avoided the inclusion of either 'Aisha house or that of any of the other wives of the Prophet. Expansion in the direction of the houses of the wives of the Prophet would have automatically included the Prophet's grave in the masjid. However , after the death of all the sahaabah who were in Medinah , Caliph al Waleed ibn 'Abdil Malik , was the first to extend the mosquee in a easterly direction. He then included Ai'sha house inside the mosquee , but demolished the houses of the other wives of the Prophet. The expansion was reported to have been carried out by al-Waleed's governor 'Umar ibn 'Abdul 'Azeez. When Aish'a's house was included inside the mosquee , a high circular wall was built around it so that it would not be visible at all from inside the masjid. Two additional walls were later built at an angle from the two northern corners of the house in such a way that they met each other forming a triangle. This was down to prevent anyone from facing the grave directly. Many years later , the familiar dome was added to the roof of the mosquee and was placed directly above the Prophet's grave. The grave was later surrounded by a brass cage with doors and windows, and the walls of the grave itself were draped in green cloth , the error still remains to be corrected.Walls should once again be placed to separate it from the masjid so that one could pray in its direction nor visit it inside the mosquee. Does it also means that salaah in Prophet's Masjid is also prohibited? No , it is only applicable to his Masjid. Why ? Due to the many virtues attributed to prayer in it, not found in any other masjid containing a grave. The Prophet himself stated this special feature saying " Do not journey exept to 3 masjids : Al Masjid al Haram ( Mekkah ) , al masjid al Aqsaa and this Masjid of mine " He also pointed " a single salaah in this masjid of mine is better than 1000 salaah anywhere else, exept Makkah" Thus , if salaah in the Prophet's masjid was considered disliked ( makruh) , the virtues of his masjid would be negated and it would be made equal with all other masjids. So to conclude, if a grave were to be put in either al Masjid al Haram or al Masjid al Aqsaa , salaah would still be desirable in them due to their special virtues and place of honor in the sight of God.

A quick explanation of types of such masjids. They are 2 types of that kind of masjids. a ) Masjid built over a grave b) Masjid in which a grave has been put some times after its constructions Naturally , there is no difference between the two as far as salaah is concerned. In both cases, Salaah in them is despised ( detested) if no regard is paid to the grave , and Haram if salaah to the grave is intented. 1) Masjid built over a grave should be demolished and the grave levelled it it had a structure over it. Why ? because such mosquee was originally a grave and it should be returned to its original state. 2) A Mosquee in which a grave has been placed should be left intact , but the grave should be removed. In this case the mosquee was originally a mosquee and not a grave , thus as understood above , it shuld be returned to its original states. An example of those kind of Masjid with tomb inside. 11/23/2015 A serious test for the Ummah ( community ) : Graves-worship and its restrictionsRead NowThe fact that grave-worship was among the last things which the Prophet warned against before leaving the world indicates that this practice would become a serious test for his ummah.
Our prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him) had forbidden his followers from even visiting graves, and it was not untill tawheed ( belief God's unity) was firmly established among them that the ban was lifted. The Prophet was reported to have said " I used to forbid you from visiting graves , but now you should visit them , for they are reminders of the next life" ( Narrated by Buraidah ibn al Husaib) However , in spite of allowance on visiting grave , He placed certain restrictions on the visiting of graves in order to avoid its deterioration into grave worship in later generations. As a means of setting up a barrier against grave worship : 1) prayer was totally forbidden in graveyards regardless of the intention. Abu Sa'eed al Khudree reported from the Prophet that he said " All the earth is a masjid ( place of worship) exept graveyards and toilets" ( Collected by al Tirmithee) Ibn 'Umar also reported that the Prophet said " Pray in your houses , do not make them graveyards" Voluntary prayer is recommended in the home as an example for the familly. If no prayer take place there , it then resembles a graveyard in which no prayer is allowed. Although praying to Allah in a graveyard is not itself shirk , the ignorant under Satan's influence , may assume that prayers in graveyards are to the dead and not for them. On one occasions , the second Caliph 'Umar ibn al Khattab noticed another of the Prophet's companions Anas ibn Maalik praying near a grave and called out to him " The grave! The grave!" ( These Hadeeths also confirm that the Prophet's prohibition of prayer in graveyards was not due to the area being considered ritually impure ( Najis). The graves of the prophets are pure , because according to the Prophet , Allah has not allowed the earth to eat their bodies. Hence, the Prophet's curse on the Jews and Christians for taking the graves of their prophets as places of worship was due to the Shirk involved and not the impurity of the area" 2) The Prophet's prohibition of purposely praying in the direction of graves because such an act may be later understood by the ignorant as prayer directed to the dead themselves. Abu Marthad al Ghanawee reported that the Prophet said " Do not pray towards graves nor sit on them" ( this includes even Du'aa ( informal prayer) in their direction because Du'aa is worship and Du'a should be made in the same direction as Salaah ( Qiblah , Makaah) 3) The recitation of Qu'ran in the graveyards is not allowed , as neither the Prophet nor his companions were known to do so. When the Prophet's wife , 'Aesha , asked him what to say when visiting graveyards ; he told her to give salaams * (greetings of peace / see the du'a at the end of the page) and a supplication for those buried but he didn't tell her to recite Soorat Al Fatiha or any chapter from Qu'ran. 4) He , the Prophet , forbade the white-washing of graves , the building of structures over them, writing on them , or raising them above ground level. He also taught that any such a structures should be torn down and the graves made level with the ground. Alee ibn Abee Taleed reported that the Prophet ordered him to demolish all idols he came across , and to level all graves. 5) The building of masjids over graves was expressly forbidden by the Prophet. 'Aisha reported that when the death was descending upon Allah's Messenger , he drew his striped cloak over his face saying, " May Allah's curse be on the Jews and Christians for taking the graves of their prophets as places of worship" 6) In order to prevent grave worship , He also forbade annual or seasonal gatherings even around his own grave. He said " do not make my grave an 'eed ( place of celebration ) nor make your houses graveyards , and ask Allah blessings for me wharever you may be , for they will reach me" ( Huge celebration or huge gatherings held on differents occasions ( birthdays-like .... ) are completely outside the teaching of Islaam) 7) Setting out on journeys to visit graves was also forbideen by the Prophet , this place forms the basis of idolatrous pilgrimages in others religions. Allah's Messenger said : " Do not travel exept to three masjiids , Masjid al Haram ( the Ka'bah in Makkah) , the masjid of the Messenger , and all Aqsaa Masjid". Note : In Islam the funeral service is not held in the graveyard , but in a prayer area set aside for large congregational prayers or in a masjid. Furthermore , because the body is placed at the front of the congregation , directly in front of the Imaan (prayer leader) , plus the funeral prayer ( Salaatual Janazaah ) does not have any bowing ( Rukoo') or prostration ( Sujood) , so as not to give anyone the impression that the prayer is to the dead and not merely for the dead as the wordings of the prayer clearly indicate) * Salaams du'a when visiting graveyards : ( Peace be upon the Believers and Muslims among the inhabitants of these dwellings. May Allah have mercy on those who have gone ahead of us , and those following us. And we shall- Allah-willing be joining.) This kind of worship still exist in some Muslims countries , like Morocco or Egypt . Let's prevent grave worship and spread what the Prophet taught us to stop others from practising this serious matter. ! Nothing escapes Allah's knowledge therefore , the wise are those who act accordingly. They feel His presence all the time. They carefully perform all their obligatory duties ( Fard) then they piously try to make up for any of the inevitable deficiences by doing voluntary acts. These voluntary acts help to protect the obligatory duties because some of their obligatory duties are likely to be discarded , or neglected. The more someone strengthens his obligatory practices by performing voluntary acts, the more his life conforms to the Sharee'ah. Allah conveyed this principle through the Prophet in a hadeeth saying " The most beloved thing with which my Slave may come close to me is that which i have made obligatory on him.My servant will continue to come closer to me by voluntary acts of worship , until I love him.If i love him , I will be his hearing by which he hears, his sight by which he sees , his hands by which he grasps, and his foot by which he walks.if he ask Me anything i would give it and if he seeks refuge in Me , i would protect him" The only thing we can do after reading this is being........speechless ! Ma sha Allah What a strong hadeeth ! I guess this will help us being closer to Allah.... This Walee of Allah would only hear , see , grasp and walk to what is Halal ( lawful) while avoiding all the Haram ( prohibited). Allah also said in the Qu'ran : " Say , if you love Allah , follow Me ( Muhammad) and Allah will love you" ( Surat al 'Imran (3:31) Hence , Allah's love can only be attained by strictly following the directives ( Sunnah) of His Apostle and of course , by carefully avoiding all innovations in religious matters. A hadeeth reported by Abu Najeeh from the Prophet " Keep to my Sunnah and that of the rightly guided caliphs.Bite on to it with your molars and beware of innovations for verily they are all Bid'ah (heresy) , and heresy is misguidance which leads to the hell fire" ( collected by Abu Dawood) One who strictly follows this principle will only listen to what Allah wishes for him to listen to. By him listening only to what Allah wishes for him to hear , Allah has metaphorically become his hearing, in a similar way , Allah becomes his sight , hands and feet. This is the correct interpretation of the previously mentioned. A short paragraph of the closest people to Allah.
The term saint has been used to translate the Arabic word Walee which Allah used to designate those who are close to Him , a more appropriate word would be "close friend" . Allah used this verse to refer Himself : " Allah is the Walee of those who belive and takes them from the darkness into light" ( Surat al Baqarah (2):257) But the usage which concerns us most is " Awliyaa-ullaah" close friends of Allah. Allah's description of His Walees can be found in Soorah al Anfal where Allah states : " Verily His ( Allah's) Awliyaa are only those with Taqwa, but most people do not realize that" ( 8:34) Allah explains us that for "Walaayah" ( divine friendship) is Eemaan (faith) and Taqwa ( piety) and these qualities are shared by all true believers. Therefore , as said , all believers who have Eemaan and Taqwa are Walees of Allah and He is their Walee . Allah cleary stated " Allah is the Walee of those who believe" ( Soorat al Baqarah ( 2:257) Consequently , Muslims are not allowed to designate certain believers as belonging to the Awliyaa of Allah and not others. Among the community of believers , some are superior to others and this superiority is a direct result of their own strivings.
This superiority is linked to Emaan ( the strength and depth of faith). A living faith unsuscribe from whatever displeases Allah. In Arabic we call it " Taqwa" also translated as " fear of God", " piety" or " God-consciousness". Allah expressed clearly the superiority of Taqwa as follows : " Verily the most noble among you is the one with the most Taqwa" ( Surat al Hujuraat ( 49:13) So , as understood , a believing man or woman is only superior to another by the level of Taqwaa. Taqwaa is the driving force behind living faith and without it faith is only a meaningless jumble of memorized words and phrases and righteous "deeds" only shells of pretence and hypocrisy. The Messenger of Allah said : " A woman is married for four reasons : her wealth , her nobility , her beauty and her piety. Choose the pious one and be successful. No matter how beautiful , rich a woman might be , if she is not pious , she is totally inferior to a pious , ulgy and a poor woman. There is also the converse for man , as the Prophet said " If a man whose practise of religion satisfies you , asks you for your daughter in marriage , you should marry them , otherwise there will be a corruption in the land". Once the Prophet reprimanded Abu Dharr for calling Bilal ( The Prophet's muezzin) " son of a black woman" and then He went on to say " Look! Surely you are not better than a brown man nor a black man exept by fearing Allah more than them". Even before his death , Allah's Messenger lectured the people on the insignificance of racial differences and the all importance of Taqwaa. Therefore , the most pious individuals are only known by Allah , because the seat of Taqwaa is the heart. Us , Men , can only judge by each other's outward deeds which may or may not be misleading ( deceptive) . Allah said in the Qu'ran " There is among people in this life , he whose speech will dazzle you , and he will call on Allah as a witness to what is in the heart ; yet he will be among the most vicious of enemies" ( Surat al Baqara ( 2:204) Hence , it is not permissible for humans to designate certain people as being particularly saintly and pious to a degree beyond the reach of ordinary humans. This shows us not to be fooled by people's actions. Our Prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him) specified among his companions some whom he gave glad tidings of paradise in this life. Howerer let's not misunderstand that such pronouncements were based on his ability to judge the hearts but obviously they were based on Revelation. Similarly , he judged some whom everyone thought were diestined to Paradise to be among those destined for the hellfire. In Christian tradition , some individuals were highly praised for their supposed " spiritual achievements" . Miracles were attributed to them and the rank of " saint" was bestowed on them. In pre-Christian Hindu and Buddhist tradition , teachers were given the titles of Avatars or Guru because they were supposed to have cimbled the ladder of spiritual exellence. These designations have led the masses ( people) to either seek intercession through them or to worship them too. Consequently , these religion 's tradition have saints whom the masses pray massively. On the other hand , In Islam, opposes the excessive praise of our Prophet Muhammad who said " Do not praise me excessively as the Christians did to 'Eesa ibn Myriam ( Jesus son of Myriam) , verily I am a slave only , so call me instead the slave of Allah and His Messenger" (Reported by Umar ibn al Khattab and collected by al Bukhari) As we know , in this catergory of Shirk , acts of worship are directed to other than God and the reward for worship is sought ( researched) from the creation ( people) instead of the Creator. Shirk in al 'Ibaadah has two main aspects. A) Ash-Shirk al Akbar ( Major Shirk ) This form of shirk occurs when any act or worship is directed to other than Allah. It represents the most obvious form of idolatry which the Prophets were specificially sent by Allah to call the masses of mankind away from. Allah states :" Surely we have sent to every nation a messenger saying to worship Allah and to avoid taaghoot ( false gods) ( Surat an-Nahl ) ( 16:36) What actually is the meaning of Taaghot? Taghoot means anything which is worshipped along with Allah or instead of Allah. Love , as an example, is a form of worship which in its perfection , must be only directed to Allah. In Islaam , the love of God is expressed by total obedience to Him. It is not the type of love which man naturally feels toward creation , towards , parents , food and so on. If we were meant to direct that type of love to Allah it would mean that we lower God to the level of His creation which is Shirk in Asmaa was Sifaat. For that , Allah told the Prophet to tell the believers : " Say : If you love Allah , follow me and Allah will love you" ( Surat al Imraan (3:31) The Prophet also told his companions " None of you is a true believer untill I become more beloved to him than his child , his father and the whole mankind" ( Reported by Anas and collected by al Bukhari ( Sahih al Bukhari) But , how is the love expressed to our Prophet ? by total obedience to his commands because love of the Prophet is not based on his humanity but on the divine origin of his message. and He said " Whoever obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah" ( Surat an Nisaa(4:80) If a man allows the love of anything or anyone to come between himself and Allah , then he has worshipped that thing , as if someone love Money too much to the point of becoming one's god or even one's desires could become a god. The Prophet ( peace be upon him ) said , " Worshipper of the dirham will always be miserable" ( Reported by Al Bukhari) and Allah said in the Qu'ran " Have you not seen the one who takes his desires as his god"? ( Surat al Furqaan ( 25:43) Meaning that the person who love money , do everything on the bases of money , thinking from money in all his actions. This is the reason we should revise and ask ourselves of our emotions to Allah are lower , equals or increased to His creations. Talking of which , Major shirk represents the greatest act of rebellion against our Lord , and thus is placed as the ultimate sin. This sin is so great to the point of canceling out all good a person may do and guarantees its doer eternal damnation in Hell. Hence , false religions is based primarily on this form of shirk. B) Ash-Shirk al Asghar ( Minor Shirk) Mahmood ibn Lubayd reported that Allah's Apostle said : " The things i fear for you the most is the minor shirk. The companion asked " O Messenger of Allah , what is the minor shirk ?" He replied " Ar Riyaa ( showing off) , for verily Allah will say on the Day of Resurrection when people are recieving their rewards " Go to those for whom you were showming off in the material world and see if you can find any reward from them " The Prophet also said " O people , beware of secret shirk ! people asked " what is the secreat shirk O messenger of Allah ?" He answered " When a man gets up to pray and strives to beautify his prayer because people are looking at him , that is shirk" ( collected by Ibn Khuzaymah) The real question is , what is Riyaa'? Riyaa' is a practice of performing any of the various forms of worship in order to be seen and praised by people and brings on the one who commits it a serious punishment. Why is it dangerous? Because is it natural for man to desire and enjoy the praised of others. In fact , the likelihood that knowledgeable true believers would commit Major Shirk is small since its pitfalls ( traps) are so obvious compared to Riyaa' because the chance of commiting it is great as it's so hidden. It only involves the simple act of changing one's intention. Ibn 'Abbas alluded " Shirk is more hidden than a black ant creeping on a black stone in the middle of a moonless night" What a comparison ! But , thanks to the beautiful and complete teachings of Islaam , a series of du'aas ( informal prayers) have also been prescribed by the Prophet before and after all natural habits such as : eating , going to the toilet , drinking ,sleeping ..... for which reason? In order to turn these everyday habits into acts of worship and develop in Muslims a keen awareness of Allah , this awareness is called "Taqwaa" which insures the remains of pure intentions To give you an example , calling someone a " martyr" is like saying that they are going to Paradise , whereas we absolutely don't know if they fought for the spoil or not , exept if the Prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him) mentionned names of who's going to Paradise or Hellfire though Revelation. This is the reason why we don't have the right to say these kinds of things. As well as saying that people of Good who were righetous as Mother Theresa goes to Hell because she served Jesus instead of Allah and died in this state. We cannot say that she will forever be in Hell , Allah knows only The Prophet devided protection against the inevitable acts of shirk by teaching certain specific prayers which may be said anytime " Abu Moosa said : " One day Allah's Messenger delivered a sermon , saying " O people , fear shirk for it is more hidden than the creeping of an ant" Those whom Allah wished asked , " and how do we avoit it when it is more hidden than the creeping of an ant ?" He replied : " Say : Allahumma innaa na'oodhu bika an nushrika bika shy'an na'lamuh wa nastaghfiruka limaa la na'lamuh ( O Allah , we seek refuge in You from knowingly comminting shirk with You and we ask Your forgiveness for what we do it unknowingly" How is our religion detailed and full <3 ! Shirk in this category includes giving Allah the attributes of his Creation as well as giving created beings Allah's names and attributes. A) Shirk by Humanization ( making God as humans form) In this aspect of Shirk , Allah is given the form and qualities of human beings and animals. Bur due to man's superiority over animals , the human form is more commonly used by idolaters to represent God in creation. As we may all know , the image of the Creator is often painted , moulded or carved in the shape of human beings possessing the physical features of those who worship them. For example , Hindus and Buddhists worship countless idols in the likeness of Asian men and if you go to Japan , Buddha is a Japanese , in Sri Lanka , he would be a Sri Lankian and so on...also called " making God looking themselves) Modern Christian believe that the Prophet Jesus was God incarnate that the "Creator became His creation" and that's a very good example of this type of Shirk. Also , in the Christian world , painters like Michaelangelo , painted pictures of God as a naked old European man with long flowing white hair and beard , have been held in the highest esteem. ( see aside ).This is thus the reason why Europeans claims to be closer to God because of their " supposedly resemblance" of God . B) Shirk by Deification ( making something or someone God ) This form of Shirk relates to cases where created beings or things are given , or claim Allah's names or His attributes. It was also the practice of ancient Arabs to worship idols whose names were derived from Allah's names.Their main 3 idols were ; Al-'Uzza taken from Al 'Azeez , al Manaat taken from al Mannan and al Laat , taken from Allah's name Al Elaah. During the Prophet Muhammad's era there was a false prophet as well , in a region of arabic called Yamaamah , who took the name Rahmaan which only belongs to Allah. As for the Shi'ites sects of Syria , believe that Prophet Muhammad's cousin and son-in-law most famous upon their belief, Ali Ibn Abee Taalib , The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Salman ar Farisi were a manifestation of Allah and give them many of Allah's qualities. Did you also know that the famous Eistein's theory of relativity ( energy is equal to mass times the square of the speed of light) is in fact an expression of Shirk in as Asmaa was Sifaat ? Let me explain you. In fact , the theory states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed , it merely transforms into matter and vice versa. However , we should know that both mtatter and energy are created entities and they will be both destroyed because Allah said : " Everything in the world will perish" ( Surat ar Rahmaan (55:26) ) The theory also imples that mass and energy are eternal having no beginning or end since they are supposed to be uncreated and transform into each other. You are thus agree with me to say that this attribute belongs only to Allah who alone is without beginning or end. The study of Tawheed cannot be completed without studying its opposite , Shirk. Some mention of Shirk has already been made in the previous chapters and examples , however , in this chapter we will look in the depth of the topic whose grave importance that Allah attested in the Quran : " Surely Allah will not forgive the association of partners( shirk) with Him , but He forgives ( sins) lesser than that of whomever He wishes" ( Surat an-Nisaa (4:48) ) As we can understand , the sin of Shirk denies the very purpose of man's creation , it is for Allah the gravest of sins , the unforgiveable one. Let me repeat the meaning of Shirk even if i already talked about it in the previous Tawheed's lessons. Shirk literally means partnership , sharing , or associating but Islamically it refers to the act of assigning partners to Allah , in whatever form it may take. The following analysis of Shirk will correspond to the 3 categories developed in the study of Tawheed. Hence , we will firstly look at the main ways in which shirk can occur in the area of Ruboobeeyah , secondly , Asmaa was sifaat , and finally Ibaadah. Shirk in Ruboobeeyah There is 2 sub-category to analysis in this category of shirk that refers to either the belief that others share Allah's Lordship over creation as His equal or near equal or the the belief that there exists no lord over creation at all. Shirk by Association , is the belief that a main God or Supreme Being is recognized over creation , though His dominion is shared by other lesser gods , spirits , mortals , heavenly bodies or earthly objects. Those belief are commonly referred to by the theologians and philosophers as either monotheistic ( having one god) or polytheistic ( having more than one god). According to our religion , Islaam , is consider them all as polytheistic. There are 2 kinds of Shirk's aspect : External aspect which means the believers bows and worships his idols and Internal aspect which is expressed by emotions ( love, fear , trust ) and attachments of their beliefs. Let's study the various religions that attest Shirk ar Ruboobeeyah. Hinduism Within Hinduism , the Supreme Being , Brahman is conceived as indwelling , all pervading , unchangeable and eternal , the abstract , impersonal Absolute in which all things have their origin and end. On the other hand , the god Brahma is the personified creator of the universe who forms a trinity with the preserver god , Vishnu and the destroyer god , Shiva. But how is Shirk Ruboobeeyah expressed in this first religion ? By the delegation of God's creative , destructive and preservative powers to other gods. Christiannity In Christiannity , believers states that the one God reveals himself in the 3 persons : Father , Son ( Jesus) and Holy Spirit. These three persons are nevertheless a unity , sharing one " substance" . Prophet Jesus is elevated to divinity , sitting on the right hand of God and judges the world. The Holy Spirit from the Hebrew Bible is the means by which God exercices His creative Power , a God-head. Paul*( see note to know who was him ) made the Holy Spirit the alter ego of Christ , the guide and help of Christians. How is expressed Shirk ar Ruboobeeyah in Christian belief? It occurs , in their belief that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are God's partners in all of His dominion , also in their belief , Jesus alone pronounces judgement in the world and Chrtistian are helped and guided by the Holy Spirit. * ( According to their belief , he was a man who hated Christians , he didn't believe Gospel that Jesus left on earth , he killed many Christians and one day Jesus went to meet him and told him to stop Chritsian's persecution and made him blind. But at the end Paul finds his eyes back thanks to God , he is forgiven and became a powerful man who spread the good news ( Christ's Gospel ) Zoroastrians ( Parsis) They conceive God , Ahura Mazda as being the creator of all that is good and is aone of absolute worship. As fire is one of the seven creations of this god and is considered as his son or representative. They commit Shirk by conceiving evil , violence , death as being the creation of another god called Angra Mainyu whom they represent by the symbol darkness. Yoruba In the Yoruba religion , ( followed by over 10 million people in West Africa ( mainly Nigeria) there is one Supreme God , Oloriues ( Lord of Heaven ) or also called Olodumare. The modern Yoruba is characterized by a great many forms of Orisha worship , strict polytheism. Consequently , Yorubas commit Shir in Ruboobeeyah by turning over all of God's functions to minor gods and spirits. Among some Muslims people , Shirk in Ruboobeeyah is manifested that the souls of saints and other righteous humans can affect the affairs of this world , even after their deaths. Their souls , is believed that they can fulfill one's needs , remove calamities and aid whoever calls on them. Thus grave worshippers assign to human souls the divine ability to cause events in this life which in fact only Allah can cause . As in many Sufis ( Muslim mystics) believe in " Rijaal al Ghayb"( men of the unseen world) the cheif of whom occupies the station is named " Qutub" from which the affairs of this world are governed. b) Shirk by Negation This sub category denies the existence of God either explicitly or implicitly represented by philosophies and ideologies. In some cases , God's non-existence is stated atheism while in others cases His existence is claimed but the way in which He is conceived actually denies His existence , this belief is called Pantheism. Therefore , everyone has to have a God. why ? Because everyone believe in something and desire this thing to the point of making it his god and worshipping it with emotions as loving it as a real God. For example , if we ask someone who doesn't belive in God , where does your success comes from ? he'll surely answer : " it's from my good luck ! " What ? does it means that even atheism have a God ? Sure they do. The God of Atheist is the " good luck and bad luck" also called " fortune" but what they don't know is that the word Fortune comes from the greeque " Fortuna" which is the God of good and bad luck , she was an ancient greec goddess. Foremost , there are few ancient religious systems in which God does not exist , among them , Gautama Buddha. Buddhism is a reformist movement in Hinduism opposed to the caste system , it was founded in the 6th century B.C during the same period as Jainism. In the 3rd century B.C it became the state religion. It was assimilated by Hinduism Buddhism himself becoming one of the avatar ( incartations of God). It disappeared from India but became dominant in China and other nations. The earlier and more strict of the two interpretations of Buddhism which is Hinayana Buddhism ( 400-250 BC) , arose after Buddha's death , makes it clear that there is no God. Another example is that of the Pharaoh of Prophet's Moses time. Allah mentionned in the Qu'raan that he negated the existence of God and claimed to Moses and the people of Egypt that he Paraoh was the only true lord of all creation. To Moses " If you choose a god beside me , I will surely imprison you"( Surat ash Shoorah ( 26:29) and to the people " he proclaimed , " I am your Lord , the Most High" (Surat an Naazi'aat , ( 79:24) Indeed , some European philosophers supported the idea that God was nothing more than a projection of man's uneasy conscience. Maintaining the unity of worship . The 2 first categories of tawheed alone is not sufficient to fullfil the Islamic requirements of tawheed. The 2 first we've learn must be obligatory accompanied by the last one : Tawheed al Ebaadah., in order to be considered as complete to Islam. This point is sustantiated by the fact that Allah Himself has related in clear terms that the mushrikoon ( idolators) of the Prophet's time confirmed many aspects of the first two forms of tawheed. To underline this affirmation , let's take a verse from Allah telling the Prophet to say to the pagans ( mushkikoons) : " If you asked them who created them , they would surely say Allah " ( Surat az-Zukhruf ( 43:87) The pagans of Makkah , all knew that Allah was their creator , sustainer , and their Lord and Master , yet that knowledge did not make them Muslims according to Allah . why ? Because in fact Allah said in the Qu'ran : Most of them do not believe in Allah exept while joining partners to Him" ( Surat Yoosuf , 12:106) Therefore , their belief in Allah did not make them stop from worshipping gods along with Allah. Despite if some pagans Makkans believed in the Resurrection and the Judgment day and others in predestination ( qadar ) , Allah classified them as Kuffars( disbelievers) and pagans ( mushrikoons). All forms of worship must be directed only to Allah because He alones deserves worship , and it is He alone who can grant benefit to man as a result of His worship, futhermore there is no need for any form of intercessor or intermediary between man and God. Worshipping Him is the main purpose of man's creation , He said : " I did not create the jinn and mankind exept for My worship" ( Sourat adh-Dhaariyat ( 51:56) Plus , the main message of the Prophets was to worship God alone.. Consequently the gravest sin is SHIRK ( worship of others instead of Allah and along with Him), like praying to the Prophet , or jinn or angels asking them to request help from Allah on his behalf : it's considered to associate partners with Allah , as long as worship is being shared between Allah and His creation , it's Shirk. Therefore , does it means that we can't ask to nobody in our lives if we have a car accident and need help? No , Islam isn't like that , for this kind of situation , it is permissible to ask help from people who can directly help you , that's not haram.. When Makkans were questionned about directing theirs prayers to idols , they sadly answered " We only worhsip them so that they may bring us closer to Allah " ( Surat az Zumar ( 39:3) As we can see and understand , the idols here were only used as intermediaries to get closer to Allah , it may sounds normal but Allah called them pagans for their practice. We should not imitate Catholics among Christians when they have saints for every occasion to whom their direct their prayers , as we all knows by watching films , they also use their priests as intercessors in the mistaken belief that the priest are closer to Allah due to their celibacy and piety. On one occasion , the Prophet's companion 'Adee ibn Haatim who was a convert from christianity , heard the Prophet recite the Qu'ranic verse , : " They have taken their rabbis and monks as lords besides Allah"( Surat at Tawbah ,(9):31) so he said , " surely we did not worship them" The Prophet turned to him and said " Did they not make forbidden ( haram) what Allah had made halal ( allowable) and you made it haram , and did they not make halal what Allah made haram, and you made it halal?" He replied : " We certainly did " so the Prophet affirmed " That was how you worshipped them" ( At Tirmithee) When we talk about what take make haram and halal , it means , that the Christian clergy made haram the marrying of more than 1 wife and first cousins. and for the Roman Catholism , they forbade priests from marrying and divorce in general as for Christian churches made halal the eating of pork , blood and alcohol .Some of them even made allowable paintings and statues of God as man. In Islam , worship includes more than just fasting , praying , Hajj and animal sacrifices : It certainly includes emotions , such as Fear , Love and Trust , those emotions must be all gathered and directed to Allah , if we fear , love and trust someone's else than Allah , it's Shirk , this is the reason we must be careful about what we learn and practice. To explain more about this Tawheed , Tawheed al Ebaadah involves the implementation of Shar'eea , especially in lands where Muslims from the majority ! What does it means ? It means that Divine laws should be re-introduced in many muslims countries . There are , unfortunately , in many muslims countries not the Shar'ia , they don't rules under Allah's command yet they call themselves muslims. Allah said in the Qu'ran : " Those who do not rule by what Allah has revealed are disbelievers ( kafiroon) ( Surat am Maa'idah ( 5:44).. The non-implementation of Islamic rules in Muslims lands is an act of shirk and kufr,. However as Ibn 'Abbas explained , it is not the major act of disbelief, it's a lesser form than others it doesn't make the doer a disbeliever unless he believes that non-islamic rules are superior or equals to the divine law. What to remember from this last 3 articles? - Desobedience does not make us disbeliever , because what made Iblis a kuffar was his pride by contradicting Allah (Superiority to Adam when Allah asked Iblis to bow before him) - In Iran , sects says that there is a God of Good which is the ultimate God and the God of evil. - We worship Allah through His attributes , we do not need statue and images for that. - If we want to call people Merciful we should add 'Abd ( slave of ) before the name ex : Abd Ar- Rahmam - Shiites common names are : Abdul Rassool , Abdul Nabee ( Servant of the Prophet , the Messenger ) , those kind of name are totally wrong. - The Sunnah of the Prophet isn't only what he do but it is also what he didn't do. we call it Sunnah terkia = sunnah of what he didn't do and Sunnah fe'lia = what he done. - Trusting , loving , fearing someone more than Allah is an act of worship - Always ask people for the proof of their saying concerning Islam - When people decide to not follow what Qu'ran says , they disobey ( exept if it's ignorance , or sometimes following culture , innocence) - Shiites are both innovators and Shirk doers but they are not non-muslims.( exept if what they know is bad and don't reject it then they become disbelievers) - We can make du'a without raising hands ( sujood , prostration) - We can ask forgiveness for the death but it musn't be regular ( like asking Imam to do it) - When it came to personal taste ( dislike , like) of Prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him) , we are not obliged to follow the sunnah ( He hated Dubb ) or like buying his sandals from yemen. - " Spirit of Allah" is a false concept because Allah created the spirit - The term Tawheed can be found neither in the Qu'ran nor the Sunnah - 'Ibaadah = worship Allah alone without partner - Asmaa was sifat = Describe Allah only in the way He and his Prophet described him - Division of Tawheed into 3 categories was done by Muslim scholars after the time of companion |
